As part of the night tube preparation works, we worked with Tube lines to install gates at 50 locations throughout underground network. No standard design was developed and each site had unique requirements and solutions.

As part of the night tube preparation works, Tube lines had packages for various sizes and styles of gates. Initially we received 4 packages with a combined total of 34 gates at various stations, this was then extended through additional orders to 50 gates and numerous finishing packages.
Tube lines gave artistic impressions and initial designs which Spoor-Tech developed until an approved design was reached.
We then fabricated and powder coated the gates, and installed them at the proposed locations throughout the underground network using applicable furnishings and floor finishes.
Quality
Spoor-Tech operate a robust quality management system including standard procedures for our core works. Ongoing ITP’s and site checks are backed up by regular site inspections by our qualified engineers and project managers as the works progress and at key stages throughout the project.
ITPs were carried out on site regularly to check the quality, ensuring the clients standards were being met. Site reports with photographic evidence are sent daily to monitor progress, combined with site visits to inspect work completed.
We made use of LUL engineering hours. Good time management was encouraged to prevent idle operatives on site. Works were planned around subcontractors and other station works to prevent delay to the program. We worked closely with the client to organise multiple gangs at different sites to get work done quickly.
As with projects of this type, there are always overlaps between the civils works and other trades required and our training and experience in various trades was used to good effect. Co-ordination between multiple suppliers was also made easier for the client by our ability to quickly mobilise and attend site to undertake opportune works around 3rd parties to maintain or better the programme.
